SELIOUSRRY. When are you taking me driving. I have some polyester polos that need to see the light of day.
Oh, sho ‘nuff homeslice. You just get your butt out of booszhee Manhattan and take a trip down to DC one of these days. I’ll take you for some driving lessons and you can rock those amajing polos (the brighter the better). Cuz you know, 99% of the appeal of golf is the FUN FASHUNZ.
oh my god, what is going on? i feel like i'm being bathed in awesome, asian sunshine. you're a fan of christina AND raven?! I WANT TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. plus, after (more) unabashed gpoyw inspection, i find you're already friends with my new best friend, choronda!! (and also very handsome). i just want a group hug, really.
hey, i'm brandon. get in my life. =]
Yes, Choronda is one of my besties. He is quite amajing. He also shares my lurve of banji animated gifs and quality muzaks. Also, people often get us mixed up (even friends we’ve known for years) because all Orientals rook arike duhs and call us by each other’s names, so I guess we can be seen as some kind of package deal. Hah.
In the meantime, I leave you with one of my absolute favorite Raven gifs, courtesy of Folkinz (who you should also get into, if you haven’t already):
When Tricky Stewart, Claude Kelly, and Aguilera put the finishing touches on this track, they knew they were giving us an updated, 2010 version of Madonna’s Vogue. I can honestly say that I feel so GHEY when I hear this song I don’t know what to do with myself (kinda like when Matt once told me whenever he hears CeCe Peniston, he feels the need to have sex with his wifey, just to prove something to himself). The hypnotic synths and finger snaps are so infectious I can’t help but get this stank, divalicious look on my face while imagining myself stomping down a catwalk, a la Raven:
Or perhaps, trying to do some sort of spin, hand snap, and head cock via Dennis from Sunny:
The problem is, I can’t do any of this stuff. Keeks is always like, RAY DO THIS GEIGH MOVE/DANCE and when I try, I end up looking stiff, awkward, and fug. And erryone laughs. Not pretty (in any sense of the word).
So I’ll just stick to doing my crip walk/chicken head/lean-wit-it-rock-wit-it/Ying Yang twins snap in the corner while blasting this Xtina jam:
marry, kill, make sweet love to: Oil dispersant, fire boom, evaporation.
Oh GAH. Jasen, you cannot do this to me!
As it is well-beyond my area of environmental expertise, I feel like I would sound stoopit with whatever answer I give, along with the explanation as to why I would marry/kill/make sweet love to any of these options. And Lord knows all these scientific models they’re using re: dispersants & evaporation are continually questioned as is. I am, however, a bit perplexed as to why the use (or lack?) of a fire boom seems to have been excluded.
So in the meantime, I will continue to read up on this stuff and furrow my brow like I actually understand what is going on.
EPA Administrator Jackson, USCG Rear Admiral Landry to Hold Press Conference Call to Discuss Dispersants
For those interested…
WASHINGTON - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry will hold a press conference call at 3:30 p.m. CST/4:30 p.m. EST to discuss BP’s use of dispersants to address the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
On Thursday, EPA directed BP to analyze available pre-approved dispersants for toxicity and effectiveness and report back within 24 hours. The directive called for a 72-hour window to analyze the options – that window closed on Sunday night. After receiving BP’s response to the directive Thursday, EPA and NOAA scientists immediately called a meeting with BP scientists to discuss BP’s response. EPA and NOAA have been reviewing the science and Administrator Jackson and Rear Admiral Landry will announce the next steps on this call.
WHO: EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, USCG Rear Admiral Mary Landry
WHAT: Press conference call to discuss dispersants
WHEN: Monday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m. CST/4:30 p.m. EST
Can you please learn how to use your new phone so that you don't interrupt my lazy sundays with unintentional calls from you at the store or where ever you were at? I get enough of that from my parents. Thanks :)
Ohhh…wait. Yeah, see what had happened was, Janice was all upset that I had left her out of a job and started calling random people in my contacts list out of protest. She’s still at her switchboard organizing those cables in hopes that I’ll go back to my 17th century flip phone and come back to her. So all my friends, be forewarned - you may be getting some accidental calls from me while I figure out how my new-fangled technological phone works Janice the janky phone operator.
#ABSOLUTELY NOT. I had so many dorkalicious stages it’s not even funny. I was also quite the pudgy slash ugly baby. There are so many pics my parents have of me all cross-eyed, looking like a mini-blob, in front of some food and junk. Kinda like this:
So, a fewofmyhomies and I will be participating in this on Saturday in B-more, doin’ our thang as team Dunder Flipplin’.
Here are the pool assignments:
A few tidbits:
- Participation is down this year. Each year since 2007, there have been close to 60 teams. There only seem to be about 30 this time around. *Debbie Downer trombone*
- We have finished t-3rd (SF, 2007), t-5th (QF, 2008), and t-5th (QF, 2009) the past three years. This may be our team’s swan song (we’re old and bizzy and gots thangs ta do), so we’re hoping to go out with a bang.
- One of our nemesi(?) is in our pool: the Flip Side Athletic Club. They are a bunch of meatheads/douchebags from Detroit who dress up in Tigers jerseys and actually have a team manager slash “psychologist” who amps them up for their matches. In 2007, we lost to them in the semis and one of our team members threw a cup of beer in their faces.
- The three-time reigning champs, the DC-based 2 Finger Fanatics, have not lost an official match. EVER. However, the thing that gives us hope is that at our last qualifying tournament, we had a scrimmage with them and actually beat them 4-3. It was the most amajing feeling. So hopefully that gets us over that mental hurdle slash intimidation factor we seem to have with them.
Send us some good ruck vibes on Saturday, y’all! We’re going to try and do our tumblr family proud. :D
Do you date younger guys? How young would you go before you felt you were reaching Lolita territory?
You know, it’s funny how your age “requirements” change over the years. When I was 24, I was like, NO ONE OVER 30 EWW. And now that I’m pushing 34, I would honestly have no qualms dating someone over 40.
However, younger guys do kind of scare me. Espesh with the geighs, as some are late bloomers (like me) and don’t have a lot of valuable relationship experience.
I mean, ideally, I’d like to find someone my age. My first ex was exactly that - born the same year as me. But you can’t live your life rejecting people just cuz of how old (young?) they are. That’s just sirry.
All that being said, as long as you’re nice, funny, reasonably sane, easy on the eyes, and can put up with appreciate my quirks (e.g., golfing like a mad man, nerdy video games, impromptu food gorge-fests, puttering around my condo like a gramps), then you’ve already got a bunch of bonus points in your favor, regardless of age. :)
Finally, an interesting track! Sounds very Santigold but there’s nothing wrong with that.
Honestly, I’m not trying to hate or maybe I am, but I don’t think this is Christina’s genre, most of the stuff I have heard from her upcoming release comes off forced….maybe it’s just me, and yes this track is screaming Santigold.
Well, Christina did produce & write this joint with John Hill, Switch, and Santigold, so I’m not surprised at all with the similarities. I am surprised though at the lack of runs and histrionics, which is her trademark. Vocally, it’s very bare and minimalist.
I’m liking this experimental sound, and I still can’t wait for the rest of the album.
Sorry if you've been over this, but I read over on the last few questions that you have/had some affiliation to Christianity. So what are your views/opinions being gay and Christian, and are you still a Christian?
Sorry for the awkwardness of the question. I, myself, am sort of struggling with finding myself and any opinions/viewpoints would be awesome. Thanks.
Ps. I find you extremely attractive. Haha.
Oh Anon, you done did it now. Hah. :P
NB4R - this is obvi a sticky issue, and I see this with a lot of gay folks a lot more often in real life than you would think…
I still do consider myself a Christian, and I was baptized my freshman year of college. I used to go to church every so often here in the DC area, but I know I have slacked off lately because I feel conflicted about the venues that I have attended. The conservative, fundamentalist stuff obviously makes me feel uncomfortable. But on the other side of the spectrum, the very liberal, all-encompassing services seem to give me an odd feeling as well.
For me, it’s all about my own personal relationship with God. As long as I feel comfortable in my own skin and my connection with the Man upstairs, then I’m good. When I finally admitted to myself that I was gay, it was like, ok God, you made me this way, and you did it for a reason. And I’ve kinda felt that peace of mind for a while now, though there are obviously still some things I’m trying to iron out. All I ask is that my friends/peers respect my views & beliefs, and I’ll respect theirs. And I love them because they’ve done that for me.
My homie Warren may also have some insight that could be helpful to you. I know there are other gay Christian tumblrs out there as well, but I don’t want to put them on blast cuz I don’t know if they want their biz out in the open like that re: such a touchy subject. I mean, I don’t necessarily advertise it, but if someone asks I’m going to give an honest answer.
